How does PVAC perform vibration analysis?
PVAC provides onsite data collection followed by data analysis and report - recommendations.
This all starts with a site visit and information gathering on all machine systems, bearings, fans, etc.... that will be part of the route. From this information, a database will be created and a route will be programmed before the first onsite data collection will be initiated. Although some plants are just interested in foot printing their operations, most facilities find benefit from periodic data collection for trending for downtime reduction. Trending is the best use of Vibration Analysis when time allows.
In a breakdown situation, Vibration Analysis is the gateway to discovery as to what is malfunctioning ... so maintenance can get prepared, locate bearings, parts, etc. ... and implement a fix before the machine shuts down.
Another area that PVAC assists the owner, is in new machinery acceptance testing. Many companies do not write the check to the vender or the contractor until Vibration Analysis has shown that the machine is installed, aligned and balanced correctly.
